Helping firms establish strong brand and market strategies is crucial to their success, Chris Knights, partner at BRND WGN explains.
For those who don’t know your company, can you provide some background?
BRND WGN is Malta’s leading brand consultancy and creative agency, with two decades of experience helping ambitious organisations define, design, and deliver impactful brands.
Beyond visual identity, we act as strategic advisors, guiding clients on market positioning, brand strategy, and growth – including in highly regulated and complex industries.
A core part of our offering today is digital, with web design sitting at the centre of how businesses connect with their audiences.
BRND WGN is Malta’s first and only Webflow-certified partner, building web presences for law, accountancy, audit, and advisory firms that are secure, scalable, and that are foremost user-centric.
Our approach combines brand strategy, UX/UI design and Webflow technology to create an online presence that is both visually compelling as well as driving positive business impact.
Can you share a little-known fact about your company?
Although BRND WGN is widely recognised for branding, a lesser-known fact is that we have been among the earliest adopters of Webflow in Malta and remain the island’s only fully certified partner. This allows us to deliver enterprise-grade websites that meet the demands of highly regulated industries while giving clients the flexibility to manage content in-house.
The future of web presence is not code; it’s platforms or AI alternatives. Webflow allows us to take advantage of this movement, adapt fast and put our clients in charge.
What are you currently working on and what are your company’s plans and strategic priorities for the coming years?
We are focused on future-proofing professional services by helping firms establish strong brand and market strategies before they even touch their website.
Our work goes beyond design: we act as strategic advisors, guiding clients on positioning, market differentiation, and growth opportunities, particularly in highly regulated or complex industries like law, accountancy, and advisory.
Part of our approach includes developing the personal brands of leaders, ensuring they are positioned as trusted experts in their field, and shaping the purpose and narrative of the organisation itself.
This ensures that every touchpoint, from digital presence to client interactions, reflects the firm’s values, expertise, and long-term vision.
Strategic priorities include:
• Expanding our Webflow practice in financial and professional services.
• Educating the market on why a perfectly crafted content architecture and a carefully curated User Experience leads to business impact.
• Supporting clients with strategic brand advisory, helping them navigate complex, regulated markets with confidence.
Are there any projects/achievements of your company that you are exceptionally proud of?
BRND WGN has always been about more than just delivering creative work. We strive to create meaningful impact across brand, business, and community.
Over the years, this has included setting up WGN Ventures which has fuelled the launch of BRND WGN in Ukraine, investing in our strategic communications partner PRSS WRKS, and producing the immensely popular UnBrand Me podcast, which explores branding, leadership, and creativity in a practical, accessible way.
Personally, I’m particularly proud of our work to redefine the digital presence of Malta’s leading professional services firms, delivering websites that elevate brand presence while driving measurable growth.
A standout achievement has been leading the adoption of Webflow for regulated industries in Malta, creating secure, high-performance websites that allow clients to compete internationally.
Beyond technical execution, our work strengthens client positioning, market credibility, and brand trust, whether through lead generation, talent attraction, or international visibility.
For BRND WGN, success is measured not just in awards or launches, but in the tangible growth and strategic confidence our clients gain.
What in your opinion makes Malta an effective jurisdiction to set up a business?
Malta combines EU membership with an internationally recognised regulatory framework, offering access to the single market and adaptability for businesses in finance and professional services.
Its bilingual workforce, expertise in law and compliance, and growing digital infrastructure make it ideal for companies seeking operational efficiency and creativity.
For BRND WGN, Malta enables us to deliver the same standards as global consultancies, but more competitive, flexible, and accessible, allowing clients to access world-class branding without compromise.
What kind of people/companies in the financial services community would you want to connect with?
We want to partner with forward-thinking law, accountancy, audit, and advisory firms that see their website as a strategic business tool rather than just a digital brochure.
We are also interested in collaborations with FinTech innovators, technology providers, and regulatory specialists who share our vision for secure, user-friendly digital platforms. Together, we aim to harness brand strategy and Webflow technology to help clients stand out, attract talent, and strengthen client relationships.
