The European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) held its annual general meeting in Malta last June, hosted by its Maltese member, the Malta Asset Servicing Association.
EFAMA members were able to follow an interesting fireside chat between EFAMA’s Director General, Tanguy van de WERVE, and Christopher Buttigieg, Chief Officer Supervision at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).
MASA and FinanceMalta also hosted an afternoon roundtable on the future of asset management which brought together European and Maltese stakeholders. The high-level discussions tackled a range of subjects including fund tokenisation, regulatory proportionality for small markets, and practical strategies to reduce compliance burdens.
