Based in London, Exchange Capital Partners is considering opening an outpost in Malta since the company is already servicing clients on the island.

For those who don’t know Exchange Capital Partners (ECAP), can you provide some background on the company?
We are an aggregator of financial services encompassing foreign exchange, payments and banking. Since inception, ECAP have processed in excess of $2bn in transactions on behalf of clients. Our agile and forward-thinking approach has brought significant value to corporate, institutional and private clients.
Can you share a little-known fact about your company?
Last year we transacted over 1.3 billion worth of currency for our clients in our 4th year of trading. As a start-up that managed to stay open during Covid, we are particularly proud of this as a business.
What are you currently working on and what are your company’s plans and strategic priorities for the coming years?
We are always continuing to develop our product suite, which caters for all payment needs internationally. We now partner with nine different partners giving us access to over 30 international banks. Due to our vast network of partners, we have an incredibly wide risk appetite and can service a number of high-risk jurisdictions.Over the next three years, we are looking to continue to grow our team and our international presence. We are currently exploring the opportunity to open international offices. Malta is a possible destination for such purposes.
Are there any projects/achievements of your company that you are exceptionally proud of?
We are currently the main sponsor for Ilse of Man FA cup, and during Covid-19 we were an official supplier on the Crown Commercial Service for Covid-related payments such as purchasing PPE from overseas.

What in your opinion makes Malta an effective jurisdiction to set up a business?
Malta has a good network of corporate service provider (CSPs) that have a wealth of experience and expertise when it comes to setting up a new business. We very much value all our relationships held with CSP’s and are extremely grateful for our relationships.
What kind of people/companies in the financial services community would you want to connect with?
We are always open to meet new like-minded companies and explore business synergies. We would love to hear from any company working in the finance space that either offers or needs banking and payment solutions.
