Insight Newsletter – Issue 01 | 2022
Dear Readers,
Welcome to our first Insight Newsletter in 2022.
We hope this update finds you well wherever you are in the world. In this uncertain time, our thoughts are with the people in Ukraine, and we hope for more positive developments in the coming weeks. Together with a number of professional bodies in Malta, we are in the process of teaming up with Caritas to set up a fund for Ukrainian refugees. We will share more details about this initiative shortly.
During the first months of 2022, our focus was on business development, a key priority for FinanceMalta and our members. We organised a virtual meeting with our members to provide them with an overview of our strategy for 2022. In a separate initiative, we met with members from four different sectors – asset management, FinTech, private wealth and insurance – to discuss trends and developments within their industries and how to position Malta going forward.
On March 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day with a roundtable discussion on women in finance. We are sharing it again with this newsletter for those who missed it.
While we did not attend any in-person events recently due to the Covid-19 Omicron-variant, we will be heading to Prague to promote Malta as an alternative fund domicile at the end of March. Together with BOV Fund Services Limited, Camilleri Preziosi Advocates, REYL Group and Aqa Capital Ltd, we will host the seminar “The Maltese Fund Jurisdiction: Solid History-Bright Future.”
At the end of April, we will attend City Week UK while in May, the Transcontinental Trusts Geneva Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, is also on our agenda. FinanceMalta members can find further information about discounted delegate passes and speaking opportunities for these and future events and conferences in the members area of our website.
We hope you enjoy the articles and interviews in this edition of our INSIGHT newsletter, and we look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events.
