Bank of Valletta is pleased to announce that with effect from Thursday 2 July 2020, it will be reopening more branches, bringing the total number of open branches and agencies up to 35.

The BOV Branches located in Birżebbuġa and Cospicua together with the Xewkija Agency in Gozo will be open from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 1.30 pm. Cheque encashment and cash withdrawals are accepted until noon as per normal pre-COVID schedule. On Saturdays, these branches and agency will offer non-cashier services from 8.30 am until 12.30 pm. The Tas-Sliema Branch will be open from Monday to Saturday for non-cashier services.

“We are delighted that we are now in a position to open these four popular branches,” stated Geoffrey Ghigo, Head BOV Branch Network. “Our target is to open the remaining six branches as soon as possible, however similar to other businesses, we are still experiencing some staff resourcing challenges brought about by the COVID-19 situation.”

“Throughout the pandemic, we saw a significant increase of customers successfully opting to make use of our vast range of digital channels,” continued Mr Ghigo. “We continue to encourage our customers to try out these safe, secure and more convenient banking channels. Most people today make use of the internet and sometimes all that is required is just one try to move on to our more convenient digital channels.”

Customers can avoid waiting in queues by using ATMs at any time of the day for their cash requirements. They can also opt for secure contactless payments such as BOV Cards, BOV Pay, BOV Mobile and Internet Banking.

“Throughout these past months we have been working relentlessly to improve the customer experience within our branches. A good number of our customers are now making use of our appointment system for non-cashier services such as home loans, personal loans, investments, opening of accounts, applications for debit and credit cards, internet and mobile banking for a better and safer branch experience,” concluded the Head for BOV’s branches.

Customers can set up an appointment for non-cashiering branch services by sending an email to info@bov.com with the type of service required, mobile number, ID Card number and preferred branch or by calling on +356 2275 3500 Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
