Gozitan Youth Entrepreneurship receives BOV Support

September 9, 2021

Sustainability and Digitalisation the main focus of ContestBank of Valletta is proud to once again extend its support to the third edition ‘Youth 4 Entrepreneurship Gozo’ – a contest for young entrepreneurs, organised by The Gozo Business Chamber, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Economy and Industry, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, and the Europe Direct Information Gozo. This year’s Youth 4 Entrepreneurship contest will focus specifically on two areas ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Digitalisation’. Sustainability ensures that we are able to meet our present needs without in any way jeopardising the ability of future generations to meet their needs in line with the European Union’s Green Deal, which seeks to combat climate change and environmental degradation, by creating a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy where there are no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. Digitalisation aims to enhance the efficiency while monitoring consumption and resource usage, assisting businesses to achieve carbon neutrality.‘Youth entrepreneurs exhibit many of the same characteristics as adult entrepreneurs: vision, determination, risk-taking, resilience, problem solving, and creativity,’ said Mark Scicluna Bartoli, Executive - Product Management & Development at Bank of Valletta who will also sit on the panel that will judge all entries in the contest. ‘They are full of new ideas, willing to collaborate with others, and eager to make a positive difference. Through this contest, we are capitalising on their ingenuity while positively improving the Gozitan lives, communities, and economy.Applicants must be residents in the Maltese islands between the age of 16 and 30 and the submissions must be strictly related to Gozo.
