This Master Class will address the VAT considerations relevant to the provision of accommodation to tourists; conference & incentive travel and language travel operators, covering issues such as: the application of VAT or the exemption to the various types of services, the bundling of supplies, the Travel Agents Scheme, and input tax recovery.The session will take the format of an interactive discussion / case-study analysis, which will give participants the opportunity to discuss practical issues and the interpretation of the provisions of the law by reference to case law of the European Court of Justice.This Master Class comprises 3 CPE hours and is part of the MIT Advanced Course on VAT – an advanced-level, interactive course consisting of 6 sessions, each focusing on a specific sector. - Louise Grima - Louise Grima is a manager at KPMG Malta. She joined KPMG in 2015 after graduating with a Master in Accountancy from the University of Malta and has since worked on income tax compliance clients established in a number of fields including gaming, banking and funds. Louise was awarded the 2015 MIA Best Student of the Year prize for Master in Accountancy Group 2013/2015, holds a Diploma in VAT compliance and has successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation with an overall distinction. Louise regularly delivers tax lectures and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta. Louise is a member of the Indirect Tax Technical Committee of the Malta Institute of Taxation.
