TAX COMPLIANCE SERIES 2021
29 APRIL 2021 TO 27 MAY 2021. A SERIES OF 4 WORKSHOPS (5 SESSIONS) WHICH WILL GO THROUGH THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING TAX AND VAT RETURNS AND OTHER REPORTING DOCUMENTATION: INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURNS, CORPORATE TAX RETURNS, CAPITAL GAINS & STAMP DUTY REPORTING AND VAT RETURNS.
The Tax Compliance Series 2020 is comprised of 4 Lectures, each of which will focus on specific aspects of tax reporting:
- Session 1: 29 April 2021 (17.00 – 20.00) – Individual Taxation
- Session 2 & 3: 6 May 2021 & 13 May 2021 (17.00 – 20.00) – Tax Returns for Companies
- Session 4: 20 May 2021 (17.00 – 20.00) – Capital Gains & Stamp duty reporting
- Session 5: 27 May 2021 (17.00 – 20.00) – VAT
Each workshop will focus on practical, reporting aspects, based on case studies and a walk through the relevant returns/forms.

Confirmed Speakers
- Brandon Gatt - Brandon Gatt, a Certified Public Accountant in possession of an ACCA degree, has been in the profession for the past seven years. He has been involved in VAT and accounting assignments both within and outside of Malta. Brandon has been specialising in VAT since 2016 and is currently leading the VAT division at Zampa Debattista.In a relatively short period, Brandon has acquired the necessary experience vital to handling an ever-growing portfolio of diverse clients, operating within various sectors of the economy. Back in June 2017, he attended an intensive course in France, provided by VAT Forum; a partnership of International VAT experts, where he was provided with intensive training on the Articles of the EU VAT directive 2006/112/EC. He is now reading for the EU VAT Expert Degree.
- Christian Vella - Chris is currently a manager within the direct tax advisory and compliance department at Deloitte Malta. Chris currently focuses mainly on tax advisory engagements mainly relating to shareholder restructuring exercises, mergers and acquisitions (including buyer / vendor due diligence engagements and transactions advisory) as well as tax structuring projects.Chris has successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation and currently delivers various seminars and lectures during accredited CPE events.
- Louise Grima - Louise Grima is a manager at KPMG Malta. She joined KPMG in 2015 after graduating with a Master in Accountancy from the University of Malta and has since worked on income tax compliance clients established in a number of fields including gaming, banking and funds. Louise was awarded the 2015 MIA Best Student of the Year prize for Master in Accountancy Group 2013/2015, holds a Diploma in VAT compliance and has successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation with an overall distinction. Louise regularly delivers tax lectures and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.
- Annamaria Mifsud - Annamaria is a Senior Manager in the PwC’s tax practice. She joined the firm’s assurance practice in 2006 after obtaining a degree in Accountancy from the University of Malta. She acquired four years of audit experience, including audit engagements at PwC Channel Islands and US offices.During 2010, Annamaria joined the Tax & Legal Services department at PwC and has since then been involved in assisting various individual and corporate clients with tax related matters. Annamaria’s main area of specialisation is in connection with the taxation of individuals and employment tax matters.She also obtained a diploma in taxation offered by the Malta Institute of Taxation and was seconded to the Tax Practice of PwC Portugal.
