- The basis of taxation of individuals, considering the implications arising to expats in terms of the ITA (including the implications upon settlement with a Maltese national);
- Consideration of the guidance issued by the CfR on the remittance basis of taxation for individuals;
- Overview of the various schemes offered through the ITA, including the Tax Residence Programme, the Global Residence Programme, the Highly Qualified Persons Rules and the Qualifying Employment in Innovation and Creativity Rules;
- Taxation of overseas employment and part time work; and
- Taxation of lump sum payments paid to individuals.

- Luca Pace - Luca is a manager within Deloitte Malta’s tax practice, and forms part of the Global Employer Services team, which focuses on individual client tax requirements as well as on employer’s tax related matters in connection with their global workforces.Having joined Deloitte in 2015 upon successful completion of his studies, Luca spent a number of years within the international tax team, having been involved in a number of advisory engagements for clients across a number of industries, whilst specializing on automatic exchange of information.
