- Tom Wight - Moderator - Tom has over 40 years experience in the financial markets. He traded fixed income for Kidder Peabody, Bank of America and S.G Warburg, ran capital protected funds for Credit Suisse Private Bank and traded futures and equities for a privately held hedge fund. He sold fixed income government, mortgage backed and asset backed products to institutional clients for Smith Barney, developed and marketed an equity online trading platform for Refco, and marketed a fixed income hedge fund. He was a partner of a risk management platform as well as a film finance and production company. Tom has worked in New York, San Francisco, Tokyo and London. He resides in Malta, holds both American and Maltese citizenship and acts as the local non-executive director and investment committee member for several Malta-based financial entities. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
- Joseph Saliba - Saliba Stafrace Legal - Joseph Saliba is a co-founder and partner of the Maltese lawfirm Saliba Stafrace Legal, situated in Valletta, whose core practice areas consist of financial services legislation and regulation,corporate law, development, planning and environmental legislation and general commercial law.He is actively involved in the structuring and setting up of investment funds, investment firms and financial institutions. He also provides legal assistance and on-going regulatory and transactional advice to a number of industry players in various sectors of financial services, including fund managers and custodians. He also provides Maltese law related advice on cross-border transactions.
- Francesco Bettoni - Triple AM - Francesco joined the London branch of Triple AM in 2018 after completing his studies in Economics and Finance.Since joining he has been part of the risk management team for the three SICAVs (TGA Funds Sicav, Replica Sicav and Redhedge Sicav) and thus he is familiar with competencies, services and different aspects of the Maltese fund jurisdiction.
- Rebecca Xuereb - BOV Fund Services - Rebecca currently holds the role of Business Development Manager at BOV Fund Services Ltd, the fund administration arm of the Bank of Valletta Group, Malta’s largest banking group. BOV Fund Services is Malta’s leading fund services provider, assisting fund managers and fund promoters from various domiciles in successfully structuring their retail and alternative funds and asset management operations in Malta, and offering a full suite of fund administration and back-office services.Rebecca is also very active in promoting Malta as an ideal jurisdiction for alternative funds, and regularly participates in various events throughout Europe, sitting on panels and conferences and hosting informative presentations.Rebecca joined BOV Fund Services in 2018 following successful completion of a BA in Business Management with Law and an MSc in Finance.
