IFSP Webinar – Reporting Obligations for CSPs: A Focus on the Recent Updates to the ACR

Over the last months, the IFSP Directors & CSP subcommittee has engaged with the relevant MFSA Supervisory Function Team to address how improvements and amendments to the Annual Compliance Report (ACR) can be automated for increased user-friendliness for CSPs, and simplified to be more in sync with the realities faced by practitioners.Since the CSP rulebook has been introduced, IFSP has continued to engage regularly with MFSA to highlight and explain the difficulties that a “one-size-fits-all” approach presents to CSPs. The reality is that the CSP sector is made up of individual directors, as well as small, medium and large and more complex CSP firms. The IFSP appreciates the responsibilities of the Regulator and the importance of the ACR to collect and collate up-to-date information from CSPs. With this in mind, the MFSA and IFSP have collaborated on a process to simplify, automate and improve the ACR, streamlining some reporting obligations, without compromising its effectiveness, and respecting the principle of proportionality. The IFSP is pleased with the collaborative approach taken by MFSA in this regard, which augurs well for future cooperation between MFSA and IFSP.As you are aware, the 2022 ACR needs to be compiled and uploaded by the 30th April 2023.More information can be found on the MFSA website:
