- Angele Spiteri Paris - Conference Chairperson - With over 15 years of experience in asset management and consultancy, Angele is a freelance research consultant and journalist.She works on global institutional, wholesale and retail research projects with CoreData Research, focusing on editorial content and narrative development.Angele is also an editor with Global Fund Media, producing numerous special reports on a variety of alternative asset management topics.In previous roles, Angele was Deputy Editor at Funds Europe magazine in the UK and worked as an institutional marketing executive at M&G Investments.She has a BA (Hons) in English and holds the UK’s Investment Management Certificate.
- Rudolph Psaila - Chairman, FinanceMalta - Rudolph Psaila is the CEO of AlleyBe Group, an independently owned Group that is engaged in the Corporate, Trust, and Fintech Industry.Rudolph is also the Chairman of FinanceMalta, Malta’s national promotion body for financial services and fintech-related business. He is a fellow member of the Malta Institute of Accountants and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Rudolph is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta and acts as an examiner and tutor for dissertations related to financial services.
- Hon. Clyde Caruana - Minister of Finance and Employment - The Minister for Finance and Employment, Clyde Caruana, was appointed Minister in November 2020. An economist by training has held the position of executive chairman at the State employment agency, Jobsplus, since 2014. More recently had taken up office as Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff.He had previously worked at the National Statistics Office between 2007 and 2012. Caruana also lectures in Economics, at the Faculty of Economics, Management, and Accountancy at the University of Malta.
- Hon. Miriam Dalli - Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development at Government of Malta - Dr Miriam Dalli was appointed Minister for Energy, Enterprise, and Sustainable Development in November 2020. She is responsible for the country’s energy agenda, supporting businesses, and pushing Malta’s aims under the Sustainable Development Goals.Her vision is to align the islands’ economic success with the concept of sustainability. Her aim is to attract new types of investment, sustain new economies and incentivise the green economy. Her work is geared towards the attainment of carbon neutrality by 2050 and the implementation of the UN’s established Sustainable Development Goals.Miriam Dalli served as a Member of the European Parliament between May 2014 and October 2020. As Vice President of the Social Democratic Group, she was responsible for the Group’s position on the European Green Deal.Dr Dalli is considered a doer and an eco-warrior by European influencers and was the only MEP listed in the Politico 28 Class of 2019.
- Hon. Kristy Debono - Member of the Opposition - ‘’Kristy Debono is a member of Parliament; she was elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2017. In 2017 she exceeded her quota on first count votes making her the only female member of parliament to get elected as such in 2017.Since 2013, Kristy Debono has been a member of the Parliament’s Economic and Financial Affairs Committee on behalf of the Opposition and she had also served as a member of the Public Accounts Committee. An economist by profession, Debono is the Shadow Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Financial Services, and Lands where she also serves as Board Member of the Lands Authority on behalf of the Opposition. Debono served as President of the Nationalist Party’s General Council .’’
- Rick Hunkin - Chairman, Malta Bankers' Association - Bank of Valletta CEO – Rick Hunkin, is a vastly experienced financial services executive who has worked in all aspects of retail, commercial and corporate banking for over 35 years and held seats on the Boards of several UK financial services companies.He sits on the Bank’s Board of Directors as Executive Director and is Chairman of the Malta Bankers’ Association.Rick holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a Financial Studies Diploma (obtained via CIB and Sheffield Hallam University). He has been elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Banking in both England and Scotland (FCIB, FCIBS) for services to Banking and Education.
- Christopher P. Buttigieg - Chief Officer Supervision & Chief Executive Officer ad interim, Malta Financial Services Authority - Dr. Christopher P. Buttigieg is the Chief Officer Supervision and the Chief Executive Officer ad interim of the MFSA. Having joined the Authority in 2000, he has gained professional experience in different areas of financial regulation, supervision, and enforcement of market malpractice.Dr. Buttigieg sits on the Authority’s Executive Committee and is a member of the ESMA and the EBA. He is also the Chair of the ESMA Data Standing Committee and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of European Law (ERA).Dr. Buttigieg is a senior lecturer in the Banking and Finance Department of the University of Malta. He obtained a doctoral degree in law (Ph.D 2014) from the University of Sussex (UK).
- Wayne Pisani - President, Institute of Financial Services Practitioners - Wayne Pisani heads the regulatory and compliance practice within Grant Thornton and leads the financial services tax and regulatory team where he deals with a wide range of asset protection and cross-border regulatory and tax planning engagements for clients ranging from private clients, including family offices and high-net-worth individuals, to NASDAQ listed companies in various industry sectors. He conducts an active consulting practice on the legal and tax implications involved in the structuring of both local and international financial institutions, M&A and project finance transactions. Wayne is the president of the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and a governor of FinanceMalta. He is also a member of the International Fiscal Association, the International Bar Association and the Maltese Chamber of Advocates.
