Kotaro Ishi
Kotaro Ishi is currently the mission chief for Malta and Denmark. He has been with the IMF since 2002 and has served in various capacities across the Asian & Pacific, Monetary and Capital Markets, European, and Western Hemisphere departments.
He has worked on a range of macroeconomic and financial sector policy issues in advanced countries (e.g., Canada, Denmark, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom,), developing and emerging market countries (e.g., Cambodia, Laos P.D.R., and the Philippines), and small states (Eastern Caribbean Currency Union). Prior to joining the IMF, he worked for the Bank of Japan. He secured his M.Sc in Economics from the London School of Economics and his Ph.D in Economics from George Washington University.
