Mr Zammit Tabona is a Fellow of the Institute of Charted Accountants in England & Wales, a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Taxation.

Mr Zammit Tabona became a partner of the local branch of Turquand Youngs & Co in 1972 and was a partner of  PricewaterhouseCoopers until his retirement from active practice in March 2000.

In May 2007 Mr Zammit Tabona was appointed as Chairman of FinanceMalta and in July of this year he was also appointed Chairman of Viset Malta plc. Since January 2006 he has held the position of Chairman of the Malta Stock Exchange. He has also occupied the Chairman of the Accountancy Board since 2001.

Other positions that have been held by Mr Zammit Tabona are President of the Malta Federation of Industry between 1990 and 1992, as well as 2000 and 2003. He was also the first Chairman of Malta Enterprise since it’s inception in August 2003 until January 2006. He served on the Board of the Bank of Valletta plc between 1992 and 1997. He also served on the Board of the Malta Development Corporation, the Malta External Trade Corporation and the Institute for the Promotion for Small Enterprises between 2000 and 2003
