The Malta Association of Fund Managers and Administrators (“MAFMA”) brings together Malta’s Fund Management and Fund Administration firms as duly licensed and recognised by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

MAFMA, was set up on the 22nd September 2003 by two of its current members, HSBC  Fund  Management (Malta) Limited and Valletta Fund Management Limited and  represents  organisations  who  provide  management and administration services  to  collective  investment  schemes.  MAFMA's  remit is to foster investor  education,  ensure transparency and promote due diligence, ensure sound  and  ethical  business  practices  and  promote  Malta's  legal  and regulatory environment as a jurisdiction for the registration of investment funds. Since its inception, the Association has contributed its views and submitted its proposals on  a  number  of  legal  and regulatory matters affecting the fund industry and the members of the Association.

MAFMA is represented on the Financial Services Consultative Council and in December 2006  its  representative  was  appointed  as  Chairperson of the Council. MAFMA   is  also  represented  on  the  Board  of  Governors  of FinanceMalta  and  works very closely with the Malta Bankers Association in respect  of  matters  of  common interest. MAFMA is also represented on the committee set  up  by  the  Central  Bank of Malta, on the Primary Dealing System.
